oatlands lodge

The lodge is a completely restored convict built sandstone building in the Georgian style dating from the early 1830s.

Some of the original hand made bricks used in the interior walls bear the thumbprints of the convict workmen. The building is classified by the National Trust.

All the guest rooms have a very high standard of comfort being furnished in appropriate style and all are complete with en suite facilities.

Generous English style full breakfasts are served in an attractive dining room.

Historic tours of the old buildings in Oatlands, including Callington Mill (circa 1834) can be arranged during the day or you can take part in a candlelight ghost tour in the evening.

Oatlands Lodge is the ideal base from which to fish the numerous lakes and streams of the central Tasmanian highlands. These waters abound in wild trout and many native animals can be seen in the wilderness areas.

Oatlands Lodge is a non-smoking residence.
