Come along and help us celebrate our 10th Birthday.
We are an umbrella event of the Southern Midlands Council who have put their support behind the festival since it's inception in 2000.
Oatlands Spring Festival has become an annual event, 2010 will be it's 10th year.
The theme is "Sample The Midlands" included with our Monster Market this year is the Local Mini Market. (Make it, Bake it, Grow it)
We invite you to dress in period costume along with others from 1820's to 1970's, please feel free to dress in your own costume or contact us for help. Children are welcome to just dress up in your favourite character or dress just for fun.
Includes the famous Monster Market, Grand Parade including Australian Army Concert Band (sponsored by MILE Inc),Launceston RSL Pipes and Drums,Car Clubs, Vintage vehicles.
Many activities on the day for children at the Mill Complex (view the wooden animal carvings at the children's playground), including the animal display,meet Ludo's alpaca and ride the ponies, Smiffs puppets, face painting,laser skirmish, jumping castle and children's rides.
Rotary BBQ, musical entertainment, bands, Morris Dancers, draught horse and cart rides, Historical displays by our local people such as adzing by Alec Dean,blade shearing by Don Fish and working bullock display with Brian Fish, Old Bits n Pieces old engines display.
All businesses in the town are open and our main stage will be on High Street where you will be entertained by the Oatlands School Choir, with band music all day.
We wish to thank everyone for their support for our previous festival including the Southern Midlands Council, the workers from council that put great effort into doing the behind the scenes jobs to ensure that the festival goes ahead.
2009 was a huge success with something to do for all the family and look forward to another successful event in 2010.
A big thank you to all the volunteers including the committee who help to organise the festival and to the volunteers who help on the day, without our volunteers the festival would not go ahead, also a big thank you to Dick Adams MP who has sponsored the printing of our program for the last few years. We acknowledge the huge sponsorship contribution to the festival by local businesses and Southern Cross Television for their wonderful support in advertising since 2000.
